Skybar's the limit

The Skybar at Traders Hotel Puter Harbour
The Skybar at Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour opened on Sept 12 to the sound of drums as two prancing lions ushered in an auspicious start to one of Johor Baru’s coolest spots for cocktails. Some 120 guests comprising members from the Singapore Sports Car Club and Exotic Car Club, super-bikers and corporate guests attended the event at the rooftop pool deck.  They witnessed the traditional auspicious lion dance and how they skillfully presented peeled good fortune oranges to hotel representatives, Food & Beverage Manager, Avraam Koustsides and Executive Chef Alan Wong.

In his speech, hotel General Manager, Sigi Bierbaumer introduced the cool features in the Skybar and welcomed guests to discover why it is destined to be the most talked-about destination in the city.  There are future plans for an adjacent restaurant for diners to enjoy elegant meals while they watch the sun set.  But meanwhile, guests can look forward to a series of theme parties organized at the Skybar.

Designed as a swimming pool by day and a chic bar by night, the Skybar at Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour commands a panoramic view of the Puteri Harbour and beyond to neighbourng Singapore.  By day, guests can enjoy the view of smart yachts moored in the marina and the adjacent promenade shaded by towering palms.  And by night, it is a charming vista of glittering lights against a backdrop of dark velvet.

Mixologist Kumar, serving his signature JB Punch!
Guests helped themselves to light bites in a buffet that bordered the pool deck, as well as from an extravagant buffet that was sunk into the kiddie pool that served fresh oysters and hors d’oeuvres topped with caviar.  The Skybar offers a choice of seats on bar stools and comfy lounge sofas as well as on deck chairs in sunken alcoves.  On the far side of the pool, a group of deep seats in the sunken booth even glows in the dark!
At the bar, mixologist Kumaran Gopalan created a variety of tantalizing cocktails for guests including his signature non-alcoholic JB Punch cocktail.
The evening’s entertainment included music provided by DJs Herbs and Deeraj and a slick show in the infinity pool by a troupe of synchronized swimmers.
