SkyBar Restaurant at Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour Johor helps you plan an elegant dinner by offering you set menus to pick from.  Executive Chef Alan Wong and his culinary team have put their heads together to create three interesting menus to give you a fine dining experience that will be served with spectacular night views of Puteri Harbour. 

The meal starts with an appetizer, followed by soup and main course before ending sweetly with SkyBar’s signature Chocolate Lava dessert.  Situated next to the swimming pools at the rooftop of Traders Hotel Puteri Harbour, the SkyBar is both a bar and restaurant – a poolside outlet for snacks and sandwiches by day and a chill-out lounge and grill by night.

While the bar serves delightful cocktails and quality wines, the restaurant has gained a reputation as an exciting grill for fresh steaks and seafood.  A live band entertains on Friday and Saturday evenings and the current in-house band, Cherlike Acoustic, is a versatile quintet that performs a wide repertoire of music.

From 6.30pm, the SkyBar Restaurant starts to serve a delectable ala carte menu.  Chef Alan and his team has designed several set dinner menus to help diners make the best choice.  Diners can pick from the Chef’s Recommendation of three set dinner menus at prices that range from RM110++, RM130++ to RM170++ per person.  The value-for-money sets may comprise a Caesar Salad, SHE Lobster Bisque, Salmon Ala Meuniere and Chocolate Lava dessert.  Diners are also welcome to discuss their choices to design a menu to their taste and budget.

Two of the most popular main course items at SkyBar Restaurant are the pan-fried Cioppino Cod Fish and pan-seared Angus Beef Tenderloin.  The tender cod fish is topped with grilled shellfish like prawns and black mussels, served on a bed of saffron risotto and drizzled with delicious light tomato broth.  Meanwhile, the Angus beef tenderloin is skillfully pan-seared before it is sliced and served in natural jus with garlic mash and seasonal buttered vegetables.

“We are ready to replace the beef dish with an alternative choice,” said Chef Alan who works hard to meet the tastes of diners who abstain from eating beef and may suggests fish or lamb dishes as a substitute.  Although the set portions may appear small, diners will discover that they will feel comfortably full and enjoy the meal up to the last bite!

The hotel bakes their own bread and the SkyBar Restaurant serves a choice of freshly baked garlic and olive breads with a side of spreads like cucumber cream cheese, herb butter and pesto dip.  You can savour the bread with the choice of spreads or even dip the bread in the soup.  Any way you choose to eat, the fresh breads simply taste good.

The rooftop restaurant presents an intimate ambiance with indoor and alfresco seating and because it seats up to 50 guests, dinner reservations are recommended at least one day in advance so that this culinary team will do the necessary to make your event special.  Good food, unobtrusive service and a charming setting with a spectacular view, all work together to create the right impression for any special occasion.

“It took me three months to perfect our Chocolate Lava,” said Chef Alan with a laugh.  He went on to describe the technicalities involved to bake the pastry and keep it delicately crisp on the outside while its dark chocolate centre is skillfully maintained in a delicious oozing consistency.  

The SkyBar’s signature Chocolate Lava dessert is served with a side of crumbles, tangy raspberries and vanilla pod ice-cream.  “I’m sure you will enjoy how our signature dessert gives you a warm and cold, sweet and sour experience,” he added.
