Celebrating Friendship at Legoland Malaysia

Do you know that the first World Friendship Day was proposed for July 30 in 1958 by the World Friendship Crusade, an international civil organization that aims to foster a culture of peace through friendship?

Much later in 2011, the General Assembly of United Nations declared July 30 as the International Day of Friendship.

So July is the perfect month for Legoland Malaysia Resort to introduce LEGO Friends because we can celebrate World Friendship Day with old and new friends in the park.

LEGO Friends, a core reality-based LEGO play theme from the LEGO Friends TV series, introduces five girls in Heartlake City: Olivia, Emma, Stephanie, Mia and Andrea.

These girls have travelled all the way from Heartlake City to Johor and from July 2019, they will be in Legoland Malaysia Resort to make new friends and treat them to a high-energy, live performance in a schedule of shows held at the Lego City Stage.

The stories for LEGO Friends’ Live Dance Shows revolve around the everyday lives and personalities of these girls who team up together to help their new friends make the world a better place.

Each girl portrays their unique personality of being loud, goofy, creative, loving, adventurous and caring, qualities that reflect what true friendship with a beautiful heart means.

So there I was among the visitors outside the Lego City Stage, eagerly waiting to catch the debut of the 20-minute show here.

“We have collaborated closely with the LEGO Friends brand to create activities that will enable learning about friendship through play.

Through friendships, children are able to learn more about themselves, develop their own identity and positive social skills from an early age,” said Legoland Malaysia Resort general manager, Kurt Stocks.

Even the toys, shows and activities built around the LEGO Friends brand are focused on providing children with more role-play opportunities.

The park have attractions that feature Ninjago and Batman, characters that are more suited for boys so the LEGO Friends line was created specifically to suit the style of play and imaginative creativity preferred by girls.

“We felt that adding the LEGO Friends into our show line-up and park activities are in line with our efforts to ensure that there is something for everyone who visit our park, including girls.

We are always looking to introduce new offerings to continue to be the ultimate family destination in the region,” he added.

The LEGO Friends Live Show happens every day at the Lego City Stage with show-times at 11am, 1pm. 3pm and 5pm.

In this 20-minute show, the main character, Andrea, gets ready for the annual Heartlake City concert.

With all eyes on the Lego City Stage, I was seated in the audience, swept away into the world of Heartlake City through the latest projection technology in visual mapping.

This all-singing and all-dancing, inter-active production was highly infectious as the audience cheered and clapped along, some even got on their feet to join in with their dance moves!

The Lego Friends live dance show was very entertaining
While the show clearly appealed to the girls, everyone could relate to the lyrics of LEGO Friends hit songs like “BFF” and “Friends are Forever.”

After each show, the audience would have photo opportunities with the cast of LEGO Friends so fans joined a queue to take their turn to pose for photo mementoes with Olivia, Emma, Stephanie, Mia and Andrea.

There were also opportunities to get to know the LEGO Friends through fun activities like Heart Building and Super Friends Fun Find.

Purchase the Triple-Park annual pass to enjoy 12 months of unlimited entries to Legoland Malaysia’s Theme Park, Water Park and Sea Life.

With the annual pass, visitors will also be able to enjoy the all-new LEGO Friends live show.
