Medieval England in Johor Baru

Mrs Patricia Chew welcomes you to George & Dragon Cafe
When you step into George & Dragon, it’s like taking a trip into medieval England.  A suit of armour stands sentinel in an alcove while horse brasses, coat-of-arms and flaming torches adorn the walls.  Guests sit at custom-made tables supported by antique cast iron sewing machine legs to enjoy a taste of traditional English and Irish tavern food in charming old-world ambience.

“Our mission is to provide good quality service and a total dining experience,” said Mrs Patricia A. Chew, Executive Director of George & Dragon Café.

You will be delighted by the menu of Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Pasta, Entrees and Desserts.  English fish ‘n chips, black-pepper lamb, chicken chop and seafood delicacies are popular choices as are juicy New Zealand sirloin, T-bone or Rib-eye, marinated and grilled to perfection and topped with signature sauces.

There’s indoor and alfresco dining as well as the ultimate of Englishness - afternoon tea with freshly baked scones spread with cream and jam.  Apple Pie, Chocolate Fudge, Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Cointreau Mousse are homemade English desserts that go well with freshly ground fragrant coffee brewed in a menu of hot, latte and ice-blended recipes or your choice of English tea served by cup or pot.

If you like something stronger, there is a full bar serving European beers, Australian, French and a growing selection of wines from all over the world.   The Café serves daily Set Lunches (except Public Holidays) and for this festive season, it has created a range of luxurious turkey hampers that are a joy to give and receive.

Located at No. 1 Jalan Glasiar, Taman Tasek, Johor Bahru, the Café is open daily from 12.00 noon to 11.30pm and from 5.00pm on Sundays.  While you are there, don’t miss its Restroom to experience the charm an English garden!  Call 07-232 3761 for reservations, special promotions or custom-made menus for groups up to 80 pax. No pork products are used in the premises.
