Executive
Chef Ian Lim has designed six mouth-watering Buffet Ala Bazaar menus that will
be presented in rotation at the Gleneagles
Terrace Restaurant from June 6 to
July 4, 2016.
A sneak
peek into the menus revealed how the kitchen team is all set to serve an
exciting spread, complete with all the trimmings for the meaningful month of Ramadan. From fancy fruit carvings, gravies served in
earthen pots, live cooking stations to cakes designed like mosques, the buffet
table seemed to be groaning under the beautifully presented meal!
Diners
can look forward to savouring more than 100 dishes of buka puasa favourites
from local salads, pickles, meat, poultry, seafood, to barbecue and carving
stations. To taste something
extraordinary Look out for an array of hot and spicy dishes in the Middle
Eastern, Thai and Peranakan food corners and cool down with delightful desserts
and free-flow of selected drinks.

Treat
yourself to the lamb Soup Gearbox or Soup Daging (beef), a delicious broth rich
with herbs and spices, and don’t forget to ask for a straw to suck up all that
marrow!
Asam
Pedas Johor made with Ikan Pari or ray fish, is a main course item to enjoy
with white rice. Other local favourites
include Ayam Percik, Kambing Kuzi, Ikan Merah Lemak Cili Padi, Daging Salai
dengan Air Asam and Kepah Masak Bercili.
Some
popular Peranakan dishes in the spread include Chicken Curry Kapitan and Daging
Rendang Peranakan. Other local
favourites on the menu are Penang Laksa, Penang Fried Kway Teow, Kacang Pool,
Roti John and a range of rice dishes like Seafood Briyani, Nasi Kabsa and Nasi
Bukhari and Malacca Chicken Rice Balls served with chicken and tasty
condiments.

Fans
of fried chicken can savour a choice of flavoured chicken from a stall solely devoted
to serving freshly fried chicken. Here’s
where diners can choose from Ayam Goreng Rangup, Ayam Goreng Rangka, Pedal Ayam
Goreng and Hati Ayam Goreng.
To
strike a balance in the breaking-of-fast meal, the spread has a range of fresh
greens like ulam-ulam kampong with a
choice of traditional sambal sauces. In
addition to piquant pickles, there are also appetizing Malaysian and Thai
salads like mango kerabu, beef kerabu, seafood kerabu and eggplant kerabu with
sambal ikan bilis.

All
this can be washed down with Teh Tarik or Malaysian pulled tea. To end the meal sweetly diners can choose
from fresh fruits to a range of local and western desserts. Besides cakes and pastries, there are bazaar
favourites like nostalgic frozen sticks of “ice-cream Malaysia,” shaved ice
mountains or ABC, ice-cream potong
and chendol. Don’t miss traditional
desserts like Bubur Durian Kacang Hijau.
Diners who
break their fast here are assured of the convenience of a designated room for
their Maghrib prayers.
Prices
for the Buffet Ala Bazaar are RM105 per adult and RM52.50 per child. Early
bird diners with reservations made from June 6 to 13, enjoy a special rate of RM90 per adult. For every nine (9) full paying adults, one
dines free (Not valid with other discount schemes.)
Diners
can buy their dining vouchers from now till June 5 and save RM20 per person. The pre-purchased vouchers are priced at
only RM85 per adult and RM42.50 per child.
