The Bierhaus, the only German pub in town, is fast earning a reputation as the place for the perfect combination of pork and beer.

Since the pub opened its doors early last year, regulars have been coming back to enjoy its warm and convivial ambience and a menu of culinary creations using a variety of pork products.  It stocks 18 types of imported beers including Paulaner, a German beer which ranks highly among Germany’s best breweries, and serves signature dishes like crispy pork knuckle and a range of tasty pork sausages.

Rendang Beef Ribs is a another choice to pick from
Meat-lovers are aware that the popular pork knuckles have been flying out of the kitchen and if they were too late, they risk disappointment because as many as 30 units can be sold each day.

Prepared in a traditional German recipe, each 1.3kg pork knuckle is stewed in herbs and turned into a delectable combination of crispy skin and juicy meat.  This chunk of sizzling roast is served with a side of tangy sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and mustard sauce and applesauce toppings.

To provide more variety for customers to enjoy, Executive Chef Moretto Fabrizio recently added several interesting items into their menu.  Now there’s a Pork Knuckle Salad for diners who prefer to savour the fragrant meat with more fresh greens.  Other choices include Barbecued Pork Ribs in an Asian Fusion recipe and Pork Knuckle Jelly.

Pan-seared Black Cod Fish with teriyaki sauce and Deep-fried Prawns are the seafood options.  While cooked prawns usually curl up, The Bierhaus recipe of coating the prawns in an interesting batter of mashed potato and corn pearls keeps the prawns crispy and straight.  The prawns are served with a side of salad and a tasty mayo sauce.

To round off the meal sweetly, there are dessert choices like smooth Chocolate Mousse and Blueberry Cheesecake.  Some of the chef’s specials are so popular that they are now added into the menu.  So just ask for their promo dishes and look out for new daily specials.
