Rotary World Understanding & Peace Day

Join the Rotarians for this celebration!
The 110th anniversary of Rotary International will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, by the Rotary clubs of Johor and Malacca with the Rotary World Understanding & Peace Day, a day-long public event that will showcase Rotary community projects.

Held from 10.30am to 5pm at Level 4 of Sutera Mall, Johor Baru, the event will offer free Medical Screening as well as stalls where profits from the sale of food, drinks and merchandise will be channeled to Rotary humanitarian projects.

More than ten Rotary Clubs in Johor, Malacca and Singapore are involved with showcasing their community service projects aimed at helping to alleviate poverty, misery and difficulties in the disadvantaged sectors of our society.  For the first time, the public will see a collection of Rotary community projects showcased in one location.  These include information on the Rotary Dialysis Centres, the Rotary Eye Centre, Rotary Disaster Relief projects, Prevention of Polio Education, the Rotary Clean Water project and the Rotary Children’s Home.

The day’s activities will start with an opening ceremony at 11.30am by Guest of Honour, Johor Baru Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Shahrir Abd Samad.  Other guests expected to attend are Yang DiPertua Majlis Perbandaran Johor Tengah, Tuan Haji Sallehuddin Haji Hassan, Consul General of Indonesia, Taufiq Ur Rijal, and Rotary International District 3310 Governor, Tuan Hj Andre Suharto.

Join the Rotarians at the Rotary World Understand & Peace Day to see how you can tap on their resources to make this world a better place.  For more info, contact the Organising Chairman at the Rotary Club of Pasir Gudang on Tel: 019 – 779 5842.
