A riot of colour in the LEGO Garden

This April, Legoland Malaysia unveiled its latest attraction, a floral paradise in the World’s First LEGO Flower Garden, proudly presented in LEGO Miniland.

I joined media friends, both local and from abroad, to witness this exciting unveiling of a LEGO Flower Garden intricately crafted with more than 792,000 bricks in a colourful display that feature 58 varieties of LEGO flowers. These include the LEGO Botanicals collection like Wildflower Bouquets, Sunflowers, Orchids, Bonsai Trees, Cherry Blossoms, just to name a few.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it was good fun to be given the challenge to build a handmade LEGO flower – a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gift built with love – to present to Mothers.

“We are thrilled to introduce this amazing new addition to our MINILAND area, marking another milestone on our journey to cement ourselves as the ultimate family-friendly destination in the region.

The LEGO Flower Garden is a work of art that highlights the endless creativity of LEGO bricks while creating an educational, immersive, and engaging experience.

We look forward to welcoming families, aspiring builders, nature lovers, and visitors to come learn, play, and be inspired by the wonders of both LEGO and nature,” said C S Lim, Vice President of LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.

In the hot and humid tropical weather, it was good to explore Miniland – now comfortably covered by gigantic canopies – where the LEGO Flower Garden is arranged as the centerpiece.

We entered the Garden through a flower archway into a whimsical world where LEGO magic meets lush greenery, embraced in a seamless blend of real plants, artificial greenery and LEGO creations, created a dynamic and refreshing landscape.

It was delightful to encounter lifelike, picturesque scenes that feature LEGO creatures like brightly-coloured birds on the tree branches and in nests, red foxes in the grove and beautiful butterflies perched among the flora.

A leisurely stroll through the LEGO Garden reveals vibrant displays along with fun flower facts as well as surprise LEGO details hidden throughout the Garden.

There are also photo opportunities for visitors to strike a pose at the colourful Feature Wall or under the flower-festooned, domed gazebo.

Taking centerstage was a collection of larger-than-life, customised LEGO models of the Rafflesia, a species of which is the largest known individual flower in the world.

There is a Master Model Builder Workshop in the Garden where visitors will discover how to creatively repurpose old LEGO bricks into brand-new floral masterpieces, and learn hands-on LEGO building tips and tricks from the Master Model Builder and his team.

Whether it was transforming the wheels of an old LEGO car into petals of a blooming rose or turning forgotten pieces into a charming bonsai tree or a bright bouquet – the possibilities are endless.

Beyond the Garden, there are playful LEGO frogs and charming LEGO fishes scattered among LEGO water plants in a cool LEGO water feature.

It was a pleasure to get a sneak peek into this botanical wonderland, enjoy an in-depth tour complete with behind-the-scenes insights, join special LEGO Plant building workshops, capture photo opportunities and more.
