This
Ramadan, shoppers at Mid Valley Southkey Mall can break their fast conveniently
at a buffet spread created in the theme, Citarasa Warisan Johor, served at
Causeway Café in St Giles Southkey.

Diners
who are familiar with this Café will agree with me that while this dining space
may not be huge, the culinary team can use the space creatively to serve a wide
range of traditional breaking-of-fast dishes from live-cooking stations and a
hot buffet.

In
addition, there were also Sup Kambing Berempah and Cream of Pumpkin Soup
to enjoy with a range of bread rolls.
There
were refreshing local salads, Ulam-ulaman served with a range of traditional
sauces like Sambal Belacan, Tempoyak, Cili Kicap, Budu, Cencaluk, and Air Asam.

Popular
delicacies served from live-action stalls include Satay, skewers of grilled
chicken and beef, served with condiments like nasi empit, lemang,
ketupat and burasak, traditional steamed rice and glutinous rice
items that also taste good with chicken or beef Serunding, meat floss.

Among
the local favourites served from live stations were Ikan Bakar, a choice
of grilled fish topped with spicy sauce, Roti Canai, Murtabak Ayam
(chicken) served with Dhall gravy, Lamb Masala and Sambal condiments.
Non-spicy
choices in the buffet included Vegetarian Fried Noodles and Fried Rice, Roasted
Chicken with Chicken Rice along with clear Chicken Soup.
I
spotted Asian favourites like steamed Dim Sum to savour with dip sauces and
popular Japanese cuisine like Sushi, Sashimi, Maki Rolls served with complimentary
condiments like wasabi and refreshing pickles and salads.

From
the hot buffet, diners can help themselves to steamed white rice that tastes right
with gravies like Rendang Daging (beef), Ikan Tenggiri Asam Pedas
(fish), Ayam Masak Merah (chicken), Sotong Goreng Berempah
(squid), Sayur Goreng Jawa (vegetables) and Chinese dishes like Beef
Kung Pao, Egg Foo Yong and Sayur Campur, stir-fried mixed vegetables.
Among
the deep-fried snacks were fried bananas, sweet potato, jackfruit, oyster mushrooms
and squares of deep-fried durian.
In
addition to refreshing drinks, there were fresh, cut fruits, Ais Krim Potong,
iced lollipops, Ais Batu Campur, a shaved ice dessert and a range of popular
desserts like jellies, puddings, cakes and pastries.

The
Citarasa Warisan Johor, Ramadan buffet will be served at the Causeway
Café from 6.30pm to 10.30pm from March 23 to April 21, 2023.
Rate
at RM188 nett per adult and RM94 nett per child aged six to 12 years and
seniors aged 60 and above.
