It was some time
in late November as MPH Publishing Kuala Lumpur assured me that the delivery of
the pre-orders of my book sequel, My
Johor Stories 2: Interesting Places and Inspirational People, should reach
me on time for my book launch event in Johor Baru.

MPH
Publishing had kindly offered me an author’s pre-order deal so that I may
prepare the books that I wished to present to the subjects featured in my book,
during the event.
MPH
Publishing also told me that they will offer a two-book promo deal for readers
to enjoy a two-book set of My Johor
Stories: True Tales, Real People, Rich Heritage with its sequel, My Johor Stories 2: Interesting Places and
Inspirational People, at a special lower price!
While MPH
was still considering the best prices for the two-book promo deal, I was
delighted to learn that my books were included in their Christmas catalogue.

Books are
indeed ideal gifts for Christmas because the book gifts that I received are
treasured to this day!
A few days later, on Nov 20, I was pleasantly surprised to receive
a photo from Navinder Kaur, the Teacher-in-Charge of student leaders at SMK
Dato Jaafar Johor Baru.
The photo showed a copy of My
Johor Stories 2: Interesting Places and Inspirational People, still wrapped up in see-through plastic.
When I saw the small promo sticker on its top right that read: MPH Tokens of Love, Holiday Picks, I
knew that my books were already on the shelves in MPH bookstores
nationwide.
I smiled
with pleasure when Teacher Navinder told me that this book
belonged to their Pengetua, Mohd
Hanafi Samad, a keen reader of My Johor
Stories!
On Nov 24, my sister-in-law – who follows the Official Sultan
Ibrahim Instagram page – shared with me, a photograph with info extracted from
this page.

I was
thrilled to see that my book sequel had literally reached His Majesty, the
Sultan of Johor’s hands!
Sultan Ibrahim was then on his annual Kembara Mahkota tour to visit various districts in Johor and these
dates coincided with His Majesty’s birthday.
During an event in Muar, District Officers presented His Majesty
with birthday gifts and this photo depicted His Majesty holding up and reading
my book, My Johor Stories 2:
Interesting Places and Inspirational People!
A copy of
My Johor Stories: True Tales, Real
People, Rich Heritage was presented to Her Majesty the Permaisuri Johor, last year soon after the book was launched, so
this means my two-book set of My Johor
Stories are now in the Johor royal household!
Closer to
my book launch event, MPH gave me an update that the promo price for my
two-book set was not limited to just the Book 1 and Book 2 set but any two
books.
For my
book launch event, MPH offered a best deal for two hardcover books at RM88 only
and two softcover books at only RM58, with 10% off any single books.
